Remember the 6 P's
Use your voice
Tone and pitch
Regularly gauge the audience

Example of Using Gambits :
Good morning everybody
First of all, I'd like to introduce the topic of my presentation today. The topic is "How to be a Good Teacher". The main reason is that teachers play an important role in education. Without teachers, children in our country will be left behind. Another reason is that there are many issues concerning teachers in Indonesia, from how to handle students, qualifications, welfare, etc.
I will point out three criteria of being a good teacher. firstly, a good teacher is atecher who masters the knowledge and skill of the subject matter he or she teaches. He or She has to know the subject matter not only theoretically but also practically.Tthe reason why I said this is that a teacher cannot teach the students the theory only, but also has to guide the sstudentss in practice. Secondly, a good teacher has to behave himself. The most important thing is that teacher has to be a model for their students. And finally, a good teacher has to know how to deliver the subject matter to the students. what I mean is that a teacher should guide the students learning in a proper way.
Introducing a surprising fact
- Do you realize that...
- Believe it or not...
- You may not believe it, but...
- It may sound strange taht...
- The surprising thing about...is...
- Surprisingly,...
- oddly enough,...
Example :
It may sound strange that there are many teachers of English who cannot speak English. He can only teaches the grammar.
Believe it or not, a teacher who teaches about secretarial works to students in secretary departement does not know how to use the fax machine.
Relating to earlier talk / one's opinion :
- As I said earlier,...
- As Mr Kevin pointed out that...
- As you mentioned that...
Example :
As Mr Kevin pointed out that teacher recruitment process needs to consider the qualifications of the applicants. Therefore, we have to select applicantss not only by written test, but also practical test in accordance with their educational background.
As I said earlier, teachers have to teach students not only theoretically, but also practically. That's why I would like to suggest that practical test needs to be given in teacher recruitment process.
As you mention that you teach secretarial work to your students, but there is no fax machine in your school. so, how can you teach "how to use fax machine" to your student? You cannot just explain it. You need to show how to use it.
