English Presentation

Key word : Clarity is Power

Clarity :

 Speak Clearly
  •  Moderate in speed (not too fast, not too slow)
  •  Correct Pronunciation
  •  Correct stress
Use easy language
Use clear and short instruction

Remember the 6 P's
Proper Prior Planning Prevents poor Performance
(Jika kita mempunyai perencanaan yang baik dan tepat sebelumnya, performa yang buruk pada saat presentasi tidak akan terjadi)

Use your voice
Gunakan suara anda, adakalanya anda perlu mengeluarkan suara dengan tekanan-tekanan tinggi dan rendah. Yang menjadi kata-kata kunci, yang harus dipahami dan diperhatikan oleh audience perlu diberikan tekanan (stress)

Pause
Pada saat presentasi, jangan berbicara terus menerus. Antara satu kalimat (expression) dengan kalimat berikutnya harus ada jeda. Jeda ini akan bermanfaat bagi audience untuk mencerna dan memahami pernyataan anda.

Tone and pitch
Tinggi rendahnya nada suara anda pada saat presentasi sangat membantu audience memahami paparan anda. tapi perlu diperhatikan pada saat kapan kita harus menyampaikan dengan nada tinggi dan rendah.

Volume
Volume suara juga sangat penting. Yakinkan bahwa suara kita dapat didengar oleh seluruh audience dari setiap sudut ruangan.

Speed
Kecepatan berbicara harus diatur, tidak terlalu cepat dan tidak terlalu lambat. Berbicara terlalu cepat akan menyulitkan audience untuk memahami yang anda sampaikan, dan jika terlalu lambat akan memberikan peluang kepada audience untuk mengalihkan konsentrasinya ke masalah yang lain.

Use Visual Aids
Alat bantu belajar seperti gambar, chart, power point slide, dll, akan sangat membantu audience memahami dan mengingat. Visual aids juga dapat membantu audience lebih fokus dan konsentrasi. bukan hanya untuk audience, bagi anda juga akan lebih mudah memberikan presentasi dengan alat bantu.

Eye contact
Audience akan merasa dihargai bila anda berbicara dengan menatap mata audience. Di samping itu, dengan menatap mata audience, komunikasi akan lebih hidup. Bila bicara kepada seorang individu, tatap matanya langsung. Bila berbicara kepada sekelompok orang, jangan terfokus kepada satu atau beberapa orang tertentu saja, tapi harus merata kepada semua audience.

Regularly gauge the audience
Pada awal presentasi, biasanya audience masih mendengarkan anda. tetapi sering sekali beberapa menit kemudian, mereka sudah berbicara satu sama lain, atau sudah terfokus kepada hal lain. oleh karena itu, perhatikan apakah audience masih terus memperhatikan anda atau tidak. Bila tidak, lakukan sesuatu untuk menarik perhatian mereka.

First of all, I'd like to introduce the topic of my presentation today. The topic is "How to be a Good Teacher". The main reason is that teachers play an important role in education. Without teachers, children in our country will be left behind. Another reason is that there are many issues concerning teachers in Indonesia, from how to handle students, qualifications, welfare, etc.

I will point out three criteria of being a good teacher. firstly, a good teacher is atecher who masters the knowledge and skill of the subject matter he or she teaches. He or She has to know the subject matter not only theoretically but also practically.Tthe reason why I said this is that a teacher cannot teach the students the theory only, but also has to guide the sstudentss in practice. Secondly, a good teacher has to behave himself. The most important thing is that teacher has to be a model for their students. And finally, a good teacher has to know how to deliver the subject matter to the students. what I mean is that a teacher should guide the students learning in a proper way.

As I said earlier, teachers have to teach students not only theoretically, but also practically. That's why I would like to suggest that practical test needs to be given in teacher recruitment process.

As you mention that you teach secretarial work to your students, but there is no fax machine in your school. so, how can you teach "how to use fax machine" to your student? You cannot just explain it. You need to show how to use it.

    Amazing moment...LKS (Cilegon 2010)



    LKS 2010 : English Debat Competition

    January 9, 2010
    The first time, kota Cilegon ngadain Lomba Kompetensi Siswa (LKS) tk kota. Sejak Bunda Aan memimpin esemka seventeen tercinta, pemilihan siswa utk LKS tk provinsi yg biasanya cukup tang ting tung alias tinggal tunjuk plus acara bagi-bagi jatah setiap sklh yg akan mewakili k tk prov, kini ga berlaku lg. Dengan gagah berani beliau mengusulkan kpd MKKS bhw dlm rangka kemajuan kota Cilegon, maka diadakanlah seleksi tk kota dmn pemenangnya akan berhak mewakili kota cilegon k tk provinsi.

     Utk english debate, biasanya yg mewakili cilegon merupakan gabungan siswa dr bbrp sklh,tp  kali ini hrs d lombakn, &pemenangya dr satu sklh berhak mewakili clg k Provinsi. for me, it's the first experience jg.jd pendamping merangkap koordinator debat LKS. Do u know how did i feel? depress, depress,&depress...pertaruhan bgt, krn anak2 debat angkatan pertama inilah yg aku proyeksikan sbg cikal bakal utk tim debat yg berikutnya. They must be a model, they must be a good example.

    Hari2 jelang lomba, r the most tiring days. Menu hariannya adl start from appetizer tuh reading newspaper, mulai dr yg berbahasa indonesia smpe yg bhs inggris, n then sbg soupnya adl akses internet buat ngisi otak biar pas debat ga asal ngomong, d lanjutin sm mapping or case building alias masing2 nyusun argumen, data n fakta, baru masuk ke main course yaitu adu argumen, dg maindishnya y motion terkini yg probably bkl kluar d lomba. Dessertnya, adjudicating or evaluasi dr pndamping ttg jlnnya lat debat hr itu. The last, coffee or tea nya, nyusun strategi ttg posisi first, second, n third speaker n prepare motion yg msh hrs d bahas utk esok hari.

    The most difficult thing buat aku sbg pendamping adl membangun chemistry diantara para debater. Can u imagine, mrk 4 org dg karakter&background yg berbeda2, automatically isi kepala berbeda, tp hrs mampu menyatu&menjadi satu tim yg solid. They have to support&strengthen each other.

    English Laboratory udah jadi rumah kedua sekaligus tempat karantina buat para debater. Forgive me, klo aku terlalu galak y, itu semata2 krn aku bgtu menyayangi kalian, ingin mberikan kebanggaan kpd kalian dg gelar juara, yg ga akan mgkin bisa kita raih tanpa usaha yg sungguh2

     Finally, the day is coming... LKS prtama Kota Cilegon d mulai. Dari pagi nih udah kontraksi aja saking tegangnya, apalg nyaksiin anak tampil dr lomba ke lomba, my God...kuatin jantungku.
    Alhmdulillah, lawan demi lawan dpt d babat d babak penyisihan smpe semi final. Smpe grand final, sport jantung tambah kenceng...rasanya ga ada makanan enak yg bs masuk k perut. Rasanya sih perasaan kt sm, trbukti mrk jg lbh memilih berdoa berlama2 d banding menyantap makan siang, menenangkan&meminta kekuatan dr yg serba Maha.

    Puncaknya, tim debat SMK YP 17 yg pertama, brhsil mengalahkan lawannya yaitu SMK YPWKS d Grand Final dg telak, sehingga layak mewakili Cilegon k Provinsi Banten. Ah, doa Guru&murid yg slg menyayangi, memang tdk tertolak. what a beautiful day...

    Launching...a new day has come

    Akhirnya, dg penuh prjuangan, d tengah ksibukan (& kemalasan), jd jg nih Blog

    Alhamdulillah y, impian pengen punya blog yg bs aku dedikasikan utk murid" trcinta, ksampean jg.
    Great thanks buat yg udah ksh support n yg udah prnah ngedoain biar aku bs bikin blog, mskipun wktu itu km blg klo langkah bikin blog itu  panjang (yg ngrasa psti tau...), tapi justru ucapan km itu yg bs bikin aku tertantang, 'coz basicly sesuatu itu jd mudah ato susah, it depends on ur frame of thinking or ur frame of reference. 

    Frankly speaking, mestinya ucapan itu ga aku denger dr km, yg dlm pandanganku punya talenta yg luar biasa, cm selama ini km tidur, n tidur kamu lumayan panjang jg, so... km blm bs mengaktualisasikan potensi yg km miliki scr optimal. Km harusnya sdh bs melakukan itu dg kemampuan menulis yg km miliki & disiplin ilmu km skrg. Tapi blm trlambat, msh byk yg bs km lakukan, do the best thing, right now, krn wktu ga akan prnah bs kt putar kmbali. Except, u have time machine...

    Utk smua anak"ku,, from the  bottom of my heart, I love U all...
    So because I luv u, I invite u, let's make a useful thing, follow me, n we can share. Yuk kita berbagi ttg byk hal apa aja yg brmanfaat buat kehidupan kt. Akan sgt membanggakan skl jk impianku selama ini bs jd knyataan, anak"ku bs membuat blog, berbagi, menulis apa aja yg pengen kalian tulis, menyikapi kejadian d sktr kt dr sudut pandang kalian ,&aku akan jd follower prtama d blog kalian. It will be very useful for me as a teacher, bs tau gmn ur point of view dlm memberikan opini&menuangkannya dlm tulisan . Will my dream come true?


    Dlm launching ini, msh blm byk yg bs d akses, tp InsyaAllah, aku akan slalu menulis&menulis apa aja yg bs brmanfaat buat kt smua, especially klian smua anak"ku, mdh2an slama nada cinta utk klian msh ttp mengalun pada setiap nafas yg kuhembuskan, aku ga akan kehabisan kata utk mengungkapkannya.
